TULA: The New Probiotic Skincare You Need To Know About + GIVEAWAY!

If you thought probiotics were only something found in your yogurt -think again! Tula (meaning “balance” in Sanskrit), is a new skincare line that uses the power of probiotics to renew, refine, reduce wrinkles, and purify the skin. The line was developed by Dr. Roshini Raj, a gastroenterologist, who wanted to develop a line that utilized the power of probiotics externally. We already know probiotics help balance our digestive system, kill off “bad” bacteria, and help improve immune function. However, used externally probiotics help balance “good” bacteria on the skin’s surface, improving acne as well as protecting the skin against sun damage. It also boosts collagen production and elasticity. So, why not apply these internal benefits externally?

Dr. Roshini Raj

That’s exactly what Dr. Raj has done with Tula. Tula uses  proprietary probiotic technology that features yogurt extract, Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids, green tea extract, blueberry extract, turmeric, rice proteins (peptides), and vitamins A, C, E. This unique combination moisturizes, exfoliates, refines, and renews the skin in 4 simple steps. Best of all, the products are free of  parabens, mineral oil, gluten, petroleum, pthalates, and propylene glycol -so they’re perfect for sensitive and reactive skin.

I took the Tula 30 Day Skin Challenge and I must say -these products are fantastic! The 4 step line consists of a cleanser, serum, am and pm moisturizer, and an eye cream. All the products are non-greasy and gently scented from essential oils -they contain no artificial fragrance. As someone with sensitive skin, I found these products to be gentle yet effective. With the arrival of cold weather, my skin was beginning to become more dry and these products immediately improved the texture and moisture level of my skin.

In addition to moisturizing, Tula helped slough off dead skin cells naturally -eliminating the need for additional scrubbing. The cleanser removed impurities and makeup without stripping my skin and left it refined  with no residue. The Illuminating Face Serum and Hydrating Day & Night Cream perfectly complemented each other and left my skin dewy and soft. The serum alone is also excellent if you just want a light moisturizer. It has a light, fine texture that makes a great makeup base. The eye cream is also a winner. It helps reduce puffiness, lines, and improves tone and texture under the eyes. It’s very rich and you only need a small amount to get the job done. Best of all, none of these products clogged my pores or caused any sort of reaction -as someone with sensitive skin, this is vital! I noticed an improvement in moisture, texture, tone, and overall clarity of the my complexion.

The Verdict: Tula is a must-try! Especially if you have dry/sensitive/reactive skin. This line is gentle, effective and contains an arsenal of high-quality proven ingredients. There’s no cheap fillers like mineral oil or petroleum -just effective, top-of-line ingredients.
