Oils have historically gotten a bad rap when it comes to skincare, but the truth is, oils can be very beneficial to most skin types, including oily and acne prone skin. Believe it or not, some oils, such as castor oil and jojoba oil can actually break down the bad oils that are clogging your skin, effectively clearing your pores. After all, it’s basic chemistry; oil breaks down oil. So, it makes sense as to why some types oils can actually help acne rather than cause it.
But not all oils are created equal. Some oils such as mineral oil and lanolin oil have been known to cause acne, so knowing which oils to use is the key to finding one that works for you.
