Ever the innovators, Brooklyn has officially created a new dairy product! Brooklyn Creamery has recently rolled out their new dairy cream. Described as similar to “British-style double cream” with the consistency of creme fraiche, but with the taste of fresh cream. And for anyone worried about additives, it’s all natural, gluten-free, kosher, has no sugar, carbs, salt, artificial ingredients and is made with rBST-free milk. It’s simply pasteurized fresh cream, careegenan, and nisin. So, what can you do with this versatile new cream product? Apparently, a lot. Because of its subtle flavor and creamy, spoonable texture, you can use it for everything from coffee creamer to soups, dips, and sauces to dessert toppings and just about everything in between.
The cream is also not ultra-pasturized, so it has more nutrients and a thicker, richer taste than typical heavy creams. It comes in two formulas: double cream and single cream. Double cream contains 42% milk fat and has half the fat of butter -making it a great substitute. The single cream is less thick and contains 21% milk fat and half the fat of double cream. For anyone looking for a lower fat all-natural alternative to typical cream and butter, forget unhealthy chemical-laden margarine, BK Creamery dairy cream is your new best friend!
If you’re as curious as we are about this new product, BK Creamery will be demoing dairy cream at dozens of grocery stores over the next few weeks. We’ll be at the Yonkers location this Saturday to scope out the product, so come say hi! For a full demo list, go here. You can also snag a coupon for the creams, here.
