One of my favorite things to do is dig up emerging designers before they hit it big. While scouting brands last week at Coterie a small, unsuspecting corner booth filled with adorable clutches and accessories immediately caught my eye. There was an array of textures and colors, sparkling finishes, animal detailing, basket weaving, shell casing; it was a smorgasbord of fun pieces that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. I wondered, “Who is this amazing designer and why haven’t I heard of them?”
The Brazilian designer, Serpui Marie, is largely running under the radar as far as brand names are concerned, but after further research I found they’re starting to get play in major fashion magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar, Marie Claire and countless others around the globe -and for good reason! You’ll be hard-pressed to find anything else out there like their shell casing clutches. Though we’re sure as they begin to blow up there will be many imitations. Unfortunately we don’t know much biographically about Serpui Marie yet, but we’re excited to see this emerging designer hit the big time. You can say you heard it here first!
Here are a few pictures we snapped at Coterie. What do you guys think, do you love the designs or what?!
You can find Serpui Marie on Facebook and their official website.
