Plan Ahead
First things first, planning ahead is essential. Summer is a busy time of the year for most people and between vacations, weddings etc. many people have pretty booked up weekends, so it’s wise to send out your invite at least 3-4 weeks in advance.
The Devil is in the Details
Details matter. Small, simple additions such as lime slices on glasses, food garnishes, decorative straws and even the color of the drinks you serve all make a difference in presentation.
Mix, Match, Layer

The key to beautiful, professional looking decor is layering and mixing and matching. Don’t be afraid to add in quirky pieces and pops of color. Layer your table with complementary texture, dishes, table runners, and placemats.
Add Trendy Pieces

Trendy pieces such as Moscow mule cups will instantly add an element of chic to your party. By adding a few on-trend pieces you’ll take your decor to the next level.
Always Add Flowers or Greenery
Floral arrangements and greenery are always essential for adding a beautiful finishing touch to your decor. You can even add edible flowers to your appetizers and dishes if you want to get extra fancy. Which brings us to…
Food Presentation is Key
Food presentation is as important as decor. Always serve appetizers, dips, chips, snacks etc. in bowls or on serving trays. Throwing a bag of chips on the table might be convenient, but if you’re aiming for a stylish party, it’s a faux pas.
Enlist Help

Depending on how many people you have coming, enlist the help of a friend or professional server to help you entertain. While it may seem like you’re capable of running around taking care of everything, it’s always more overwhelming than you realized it would be.
Hide Unappetizing Items
Litter boxes, big trash cans, dog scoopers, water hoses, and other undesirable things often found in our backyards and homes should be stowed away. After all, there’s nothing pleasant about sipping a mimosa near a trash can.
