Well everyone, Karl Lagerfield has done it again. The fashion maestro transformed the Grand Palais in Paris into a Chanel supermarket runway -complete with canned foods, Coco Chanel chocolate, and “haute couture” ketchup. We can only imagine Lagerfield sitting with Choupette brainstorming for hours to come up with this totally unexpected, yet totally fun and awesome idea. It seems every season the shows get more and more extravagant -and we love it.
The collection had a street pop-art vibe to it, heavy on color, distressed materials, funky textured fabric -and get this- knee high sneakers! Cara Delevingne opened and closed the show as Rihanna and Keira Knightley sat front row. After the show guests apparently ransacked the “supermarket” and made off with all the Chanel “groceries” they could fit in their bags as Rihanna and Cara went on a shopping cart joyride.
Sounds like complete (amazing) madness that we would have been happy to partake in. Alas, we’re here in NYC -enjoying the everlasting winter. Hey, someone’s gotta work around here!
