Happy International Coffee Day! We love the beauty and health benefits of coffee and what better way to celebrate our favorite bean than with DIY cosmetics? Last week, our friends over at Le Pain Quotidien hosted us for an evening of organic coffee celebration with champagne, delicious LPQ treats, homemade tiramisu and our very own DIY coffee, honey, and yogurt mask/scrub. If you’re not familiar with the incredible beauty benefits of coffee, you’re in for a real treat! Coffee not only makes an excellent rejuvenating face mask, but it also helps drastically reduce cellulite when applied as a body scrub. Pretty awesome, right? And of course, our coffee celebration wouldn’t be complete without including our very own DIY espresso eye mask. This reviving, easy-to-make eye mask helps perk up the face and reduces dark circles and puffiness.
So, you may be wondering, why is coffee so amazing for your skin? First, the natural caffeine in coffee helps improve circulation and tighten the skin. Coffee is also loaded with antioxidants that help fight free radicals and protect your skin cells from aging. So, sit back, relax and celebrate International Coffee Day with a cup AND a mask -or two!
