Cameron Diaz’s New Role as Artistic Director for Pour la Victoire

cameron2We didn’t see this move coming! WWD reports Cameron Diaz is taking on a new role -not in movies- but as the new Artistic Director of Pour la Victoire accessories. Cameron will oversee PLV’s handbags and shoes, as well as merchandising,  marketing, and advertising for the brand.

“I don’t do endorsements really. This is completely different,” Diaz told WWD. “Being influential in a brand and in its [advertising] campaigns interests me. I love fashion. It’s a large part of my life. What I wear is looked at. It influences what other people wear because that’s just the world we live in.”

Diaz describes her role as a “true partnership” referring to the stake she owns in PLV Studio Inc.,  parent company of Pour la Victoire. Though she is a partner in the company as a whole, she will only have creative control over the higher-end PLV line, which is priced from $200 to $500.

Cameron, who doesn’t have a background in fashion, is excited to take on the new role despite her inexperience. “Pour La Victoire gives me the opportunity to create something timeless. There’s a lot I have to learn about the business. I’m interested in learning how collections are created. The word ‘fun,’ I want to say that it’s going to be fun, but it’s deeper than that.” she explained to WWD.

Diaz’s “functional, yet fashionable” collection is set to hit stores next spring. We’re looking forward to it!
