Easy-To-Do Hair Styles For Hot Summer Days

In the often suppressive heat of summer, the last thing we want to do is fuss with our hair. You know those days where it’s raining and 90 degrees out and flowing hair is out of the question?  On those trying days we just want an easy way to look chic while staying comfortable. So here are a few of our favorite hot summer day busting hairstyles that are manageable and easy to do.

The Undone Top Knot

An “undone” top knot (featured above on Selena Gomez) is not only easy to do, but chic and simple. Using an elastic band, pull your hair into a high ponytail on the top of your crown, leaving loose pieces around the nape of your neck and temples. Next, wrap the ponytail around itself until it forms a knot. Leave ends loose and secure with bobby pins.

Double Braids

doublebaidYes, this is the “it” thanks to celebs and the runways. Getting that super tight cornrow look can be pretty difficult, so if you’re not a braiding pro, go for a looser, messier braid as pictured above on Beyonce. First spray your hair with a texturizing spray to create volume and definition. Next, divide you hair down the middle into two sections. French braid each section then use a comb to loosen the braid and make it appear “undone.”

The Side Braid

twistedbraidFor a side braid with a front twist, part your hair to one side and twist the front section. Use a bobby pin to secure in place. Pull hair to one side and integrate the section into a french braid and secure with an elastic. You can also tease sections of the braid for a messy look.

For a messy side braid (as pictured on Lucy Hale above) tease the crown, pull hair to one side and secure the ponytail with an elastic while pulling up to create a “blouson” effect at the base. Braid the ponytail and secure ends with an elastic. Using your fingers or a rat tail comb, pull the braid apart in small sections to create a fuller, messy effect.

The Boho Braid
