Fashion and beauty has taken a turn for the simple, and we’re loving it. After all, who doesn’t love effortless, easy, and minimal? It certainly makes packing for those summer vacations quite easy. Who really wants to pack two suitcases with over-the-top complicated fashion? Well, perhaps some do, but for those of us who like to keep it simple, here are a few minimalist fashion and beauty trends we’re loving for summer that are easy-wearing and chic:

Matched Separates
This is nothing new. Matched separates have been a “thing” for a while now and we can’t complain. Not only do you not have to worry about coordinating your top and bottom, but many separates are made from lightweight, stretch fabrics, which is basically like a fashionable upgrade to the sweatsuit. And while we’re on subject of sweat pants, in case you didn’t notice, thanks to designers like Alexander Wang, matching sweat suits are also in. Winning! It’s going to be a very chic yet comfortable summer.
Neutral Nails
See ya never, nail art! If you’re not into bedazzled talon claws, you’re in luck. Super simple neutral nails are hot this summer. For the lazy, low maintenance girl, a clear coat will even do. No more worrying about those chipped manicures that need weekly upkeep.
Minimalist Shoes
Neutral tones, simple straps, flat sandals and monotone platforms are the shoes of the summer. Sure, we still love our colorful, embellished stilettos, and we’ll keep them around, but we certainly love simple, effortless summer shoes.
Jeans & Tees
Is this even a trend? No one’s blazing trails here, but we’re all too comfortable to stop. Distressed jeans: check. Loose, soft, solid v-neck tee: check. This will be our go-to summer uniform and we’re totally okay being that lazy about it. Summer heat is hard enough -at least we’ll be dressed comfortably to battle the excessive sweating.
Undone Hair & Lips
Not that any of us really wanted to rock heavy lipstick, a slick ponytail or hairsprayed finger curls in the summer, but this summer is extra simple. Basically all you need for these hot months is a decent frizz serum and/or keratin treatment and a great lip stain. Let your skin and natural waves shine through because effortless isn’t lazy, it’s chic!
